The security services industry is on the brink of a technological revolution. Artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics, along with affective computing, are set to change the way security services are provided, making them more efficient and effective.
AI-powered surveillance cameras are already being used in many security systems. They have the ability to analyze video footage in real-time, identifying potential security risks and alerting human security personnel. Robotics can also be used for tasks such as patrol, which can increase coverage and reduce the need for human personnel. In addition, security guard robots that utilize affective computing technology are being developed. These robots are equipped with the ability to understand and respond to human emotions, such as using facial recognition to detect and respond to different emotions on the faces of people in its vicinity.
It’s important to note that while these advancements in technology have the potential to enhance security services, they are not a replacement for professional security guards. At Shield Security Services, we understand the importance of professional security personnel and we train and hire the best professionals in the industry. We also provide camera surveillance services to increase safety, which can be integrated with the professional guards’ service to provide an even more effective security solution.
In conclusion, AI and robotics, along with affective computing, have the potential to revolutionize the security services industry. However, it is important to remember that technology can enhance but not replace the skills and judgement of professional security guards. Shield Security Services is committed to providing the best security services by combining the latest technology with the expertise of our professional security personnel.

It was announced in the media last month that businesses in the ByWard Market have hired Shield Security Services to manage safety concerns in their community. Nearby residents and business owners say they fear for their safety and have noticed a surge in loitering, drug use, drug dealing, and people dealing with mental health challenges.
“We are committed to helping the ByWard Market businesses and residents feel safer,” says Jonathan Murray, Owner of Shield Security Services. To address the issues of mental health in downtown Ottawa, Jonathan has joined forces with his twin sister Yvette Murray, co-owner of Continuous Training Solutions and a Mental Health First Aid Instructor. Together, their objective is to help remove the stigma associated with mental health issues.
They are inviting interested members of the community, on a first-come-first-serve basis, to attend Mental Health First Aid training at no fee on Tuesday, November 20 and Wednesday, November 21st, 2018 in downtown Ottawa. A special thank you to the Salvation Army for sponsoring the venue. This initiative is to assist with the understanding of the various mental health problems and how to get help.
It’s a family affair: this Mental Health First Aid training is sponsored by Shield Security Services, Continuous Training Solutions, and seoplus+, a digital marketing company based in the Market and owned by Jonathan and Yvette Murray’s nephew Brock Murray.
Mental Health First Aid is the help provided to a person developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. MHFA certified training is an evidence-based two-day program produced by the Mental Health Commission of Canada that has been available all over Canada since 2007.
