How do I schedule an appointment?

Visit our Fingerprint Appointment Bookings page and you will be prompted for more information. You can select a date and time slot that is convenient for you. Please note that our Fingerprint Technicians have limited availability.

What do I need to bring?

Please provide two (2) valid, government-issued IDs, any supporting documentation (i.e., IRCC, RCMP, OPS, employer request, etc.), and your online booking receipt, for confirmation purposes. We cannot accept expired or digital copies of identification. If you arrive without all the required documents or insufficient information, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.

What types of ID do you accept?

Some examples include the following:

  • Passport (Canadian or foreign)
  • Drivers license (Canadian or foreign)
  • Birth certificate
  • Permanent resident (PR) card
  • Canadian citizenship card
  • Certificate of Indian Status card
  • NEXUS card
  • Federal, provincial or municipal identification card
  • Government employment card

Can I schedule appointments for multiple people in one visit?

No, we require separate appointments for each person. Every application is unique, and we require sufficient time to process each application. Please book an appointment for each individual separately through our bookings page.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Walk-in appointments may be available depending on staff availability, and are subject to an additional $20 fee. To ensure the availability of our fingerprint technicians, we strongly recommend scheduling an appointment online in advance.

Can I bring a friend/family member/support person with me?

Yes, you are more than welcome to have someone accompany you to your appointment.

How long will my appointment take?

Please allocate 20-30 minutes for your appointment. Arriving without the necessary identification or documentation will result in a longer appointment time.

Do you provide ink fingerprinting, or is it digital?

Our fingerprinting services are primarily digital. In certain exceptional cases where ink fingerprints are required, we are able to accommodate such requests with prior notice. Special documentation is necessary for requesting ink fingerprinting services (i.e., letter from employer or government institution).

Are your fingerprinting services compliant with federal regulations?

Yes, we are officially authorized to capture fingerprints for civil purposes and submit them electronically to the RCMP’s Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services (CCRTIS) for verification.

What if I need to make a change to my application?

During your appointment, you will be asked to sign a form specifying the address where you would like us to send your results. Please be aware that we cannot be held responsible for any incorrect information you provide on this form or at any point during your appointment. Once your application is submitted, we cannot make changes. Additional fees will apply for opening a new application and it will delay the process. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you confirm all information for accuracy during your appointment.

Will I get a receipt?

Yes, you will receive a receipt with a unique Document Control Number (DCN) assigned to your fingerprint application. If you require multiple applications, each will have its own separate DCN and receipt. Please book a separate appointment for each application that you require.

What if I’m running late for my appointment?

Call us at (613) 699-7454 with as much advance notice as possible if you know you will be late.

What if I miss my appointment?

In the event that you cannot attend your appointment, the original fee is forfeited. You will need to reschedule and book a new time slot. We are unable to provide refunds for missed or rescheduled appointments.
